I love color.

Martha, you've done it again! Those people you have working for you really are great. All this color has just inspired me in the way I needed it most.

Spring

I think I need some of this in my life.

It's that time of year again where I need my environment to be lighter and less cluttered. Call it nesting, if you will.

Inspired

I saw this...

and was instantly inspired.  I love gallery walls a lot. I especially like gallery walls with unique frames and sizes. The cherry on top of the gallery wall in the image- the fabulous color. That color is just so soothing and I've been feeling like I perhaps need a little change in the living room. I can't believe I haven't made new pillows for the living in a months. That's definitely a record for me. I'm still in love with the accent fabric in the living room (see below), but maybe it's time for something lighter? I need to be inspired. Maybe a visit to Calico Corners is in order.

I Want...

...these curtains from Urban Outfitters! If I only had $200 lying around so I could buy a pair. so sad. I would attempt to make them, but they just look like too much work for me right now. I also would need them to be 108 inches long. These are only 84 inches. Oh well.

They have them in a really pretty yellow, which are the ones I would love to have for the nursery. Maybe I can find them for less on the internet. You can find everything on the internet!

Liking at the Moment

Right now I'm loving this fabric...

{Robert Allen, Khanjali in Glacier}

for the crib skirt with a quilted fabric in an off-white natural color for the crib bumper,

and an adorable and something-fun-and-sorta-baby rug like this one...

Pea Green Polka Dot Rug
{Rosenberry Room, Pea Green Polka Dot Rug}

We'll see what I like in half an hour.

Impressed

I remember opening up my monthly Cottage Living and finding that the room or space I loved the most was always decorated by Anne Turner Carroll. She's still doing her thing and she is still impressing me with her work. My latest find completed by Anne was in Southern Living.

She worked the magic on her den.

Chalkboard for Teacher

I've decided I want a chalkboard in my house. Not just a little thinger, I want a big honkin' chalkboard.

Maybe not this big

But a little more like this.
Now all I need is some of this...

and a large white canvas. I think I might even make it pretty by doing some kind of border. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Cake as life

Imagine this. A day without cares, fluffy white clouds, the sun on your shoulders, great hair, a delicious meal, walking without a path, and a pink bubble bath with champagne to end the day. This is what this cake makes me think of. How delicate and delicious it looks.

{I think I might have to make one. I cannot get cake out of my head lately}

Lovely

I want to get away from this crappy weather and just enjoy the sun on my skin. I want to feel fresh and renewed and I believe a little happy white room like this would help me feel that way. Look at the sunshine through the windows....ahhh....

I need more!

On my way home from work today, I stopped by PB to check out their sales and peek at their birdie stuff. They currently have a buttload of bird themed objects. Since I'm very much thinking and working on including some birds in the nursery, I couldn't resist.

I usually center my PB visit on the sale stuff because I'm frugal like that. What did I spot today?

Rustic Wood Gallery Frame, 4 x 6", Natural
{Rustic Wood Gallery Frames}

These! I really like the mixing and the matching of frames on walls and these are just so unique. I want to have an earthy natural feel to the nursery and these are definitely earthy. But, here's where it gets good. I spotted them on one side of the store, checked out the price and decided they were not worth the price today. As I made my way around and picked up this...
Bird Embroidered Pillow Covers
{PB bird embroidered pillow}

pillow with the yellow, blue/grey, and coral colored bird (I'm thinking a pillow for the glider), and then stopped to look at other birdie things, I finally made my way to the register. What do I see as I'm standing in line to purchase my one goodie??!! The rustic 8x10 frames with mats for $9!! Apparently, since they lost the boxes for them, they marked them down from $39! Yeah, savings for me!! I found two, but I'm hoping to score one more at this price. They would look so cutie above the modern white crib!!  So, if you happen to pop into your PB and spot an 8x10 rustic wood frame for $9; I would totally love it. Obviously, this won't do me any good if I have to pay an arm and a leg for shipping. So, hey Sacto crew...you seen any of these??? Love ya! =)
